Taiwan Chinese Language Learning Center (under planning)
The Taiwan Chinese Language Learning Center is an overseas Chinese language learning program launched by the Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) of the Republic of China in June 2021. Its aim is to assist overseas Chinese schools in establishing learning centers to teach and promote Chinese language education with Taiwanese characteristics. The courses primarily use traditional Chinese characters, and the textbooks are mainly Chinese language teaching materials compiled by the OCAC. The target audience is adults aged 18 and above.
Currently, the promotion of Taiwan Chinese Language Learning Centers is mainly focused on the United States and European countries. In 2024, the Overseas Community Affairs Council assisted 84 "Taiwan Chinese Language Learning Centers" to operate in Europe and the United States, including 66 in the United States; 3 in the United Kingdom; 2 each in Germany, France and Italy; and 1 each in Austria, Ireland, Sweden, Hungary, Czech Republic, Belgium, Netherlands, Poland and Spain.
The Pacific pilot area is currently in the planning stage – we expect to hear news in 2025!
